Frequently Asked Questions

Therapy can be helpful for many people—not just during moments of crisis, but anytime you feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or ready for something to change. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting.
If you’re finding it difficult to manage emotions, navigate relationships, cope with stress, or make sense of where you are in life, therapy can offer a space to slow down, gain clarity, and feel more supported. It can also be valuable if you’re simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply and live more intentionally.
If you’re unsure, that’s completely okay. An initial consultation can be a helpful way to explore whether therapy—and working together—feels like the right fit for you.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based approach that helps individuals better understand and manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and develop healthier coping strategies. DBT focuses on building practical skills such as mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness, while also creating space for self-understanding, acceptance, and meaningful change.

Counseling offers a space where you can slow down and talk openly about what you’re experiencing in a way that feels safe, supportive, and free from judgment. You don’t need to have everything figured out—sessions are a place to begin making sense of what’s been difficult and to feel less alone in it.
Together, we’ll work to better understand your thoughts, emotions, and patterns, while also developing practical tools to help you cope, communicate more effectively, and navigate challenges with greater ease.
Therapy is a collaborative process, and we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you.
